Injection Moulding Setter Shifts

The Swiss based Utz Group is searching for an Injection Mould Setter to join the Production Team within its UK operation, based at Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Founded more than 60 years ago, the Group is a leading player in the Plastic Materials Handling sector across Europe, predominantly designing and manufacturing customer-specific plastic containers to transport items safely and securely.

Following recent extensive and ongoing investment, the UK subsidiary is a fully operational sales, manufacturing and warehousing facility, operating from recently extended purpose built premises on the Clover Nook Industrial Estate, currently with around 50 personnel.

Reporting To: Tool Setting & Change Over Supervisor / Production Manager
Main Purpose of Job: To carry out tool setting duties and machine optimisation

Specific Actions

  • Carry out tool changes
  • Monitor and maintain quality levels and standards
  • Assist with stripping down tools to repair and also prepare any variant changes
  • Set up the run after a tool change (i.e. product quality, first off samples and set up the robot)
  • Complete product quality checks
  • Maintain the machine parameters through out the production run
  • Keep scrap and machine downtime to a minimum
  • Assist with management of materials needed for the shopfloor, to ensure adequate levels
  • Communicate with all departments, in order to keep jobs running
  • Ensure Production Area is tidy, clean and safe during their shift
  • Support Maintenance and Tool Engineers when required

Special Qualifications/experience required

  • Setting experience within injection moulding manufacturing (2 years +) and must be familiar with hot runner and valve gate systems
  • Computer literate
  • C&G or equivalent in Process Optimisation and tool design
  • Tool experience (2 years +)
