Key Account Manager

The Swiss based Utz Group is searching for an Key Account Manager to join the Sales Team within its UK operation, based at Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Founded more than 60 years ago, the Group is a leading player in the Plastic Materials Handling sector across Europe, predominantly designing and manufacturing customer-specific plastic containers to transport items safely and securely.

Following recent extensive and ongoing investment, the UK subsidiary is a fully operational sales, manufacturing and warehousing facility, operating from recently extended purpose built premises on the Clover Nook Industrial Estate, currently with around 50 personnel.

Reporting To: General Manager
Main Purpose of Job: Maintain and increase business through new and existing customers

Specific Actions

  • Research designated industry
  • Visit existing and new potential customers
  • Input into forecast sales budgets annually
  • Achieve sales and profitability budgets for designated projects and target industry and geographical areas
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to customers
  • Advise and recommend packaging solutions, including technical aspects, to customers
  • Calculate sales prices and negotiate as required with customer in the agreed margin range
  • Prepare official quotations in Navision (Utz ERP system)
  • Attend seminars, conferences and trade shows in order to network
  • Bring in bespoke project management support to customer as required
  • Provide standard technical advice to customers, including suitability of GUUK solutions, timescales and ramifications for bespoke solutions and new tooling and manufacturing processes involved
  • Manage diary and report visit results/follow-up action required
  • Keep CRM up to date
  • Complete monthly sales reports and competitor activity report
  • Liaise with in-house designer and complete design paperwork to ensure a smooth and comprehensive communication of customer requirements to and from GUUK
  • Attend and present information at regular UK sales meetings

Special Qualifications/experience required

  • Degree qualified
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels
  • Packaging sector experience and supply chain knowledge would be helpful
  • Be able to demonstrate technical solutions coherently
